Over the
past 20 years, Copresco has won a boatload of awards for printing
excellence.
So, the news that we had picked up four
Pinnacle Awards shouldn't be a real big surprise. But, listen to
this...
Our Best of Division
Award for a four-color catalog and an Award of Excellence for a family passport
memoir were garnered in competition judged solely on print quality.
That's right. Our pieces were judged side by side with
offset printed materials and walked off with the prestigious quality
prizes.
Both pieces also received Pinnacle Awards of
Excellence in the digital printing competition.
Polly
Jensen, president and CEO, Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association,
presented the awards to Copresco president Steve Johnson at a banquet held in
Des Plaines, Illinois.
"The Pinnacle Awards recognize
outstanding craftsmanship and the highest standards of the printing industry"
Polly said.
Graphic arts professionals from Akron, Ohio,
and St. Louis, Missouri, judged the nearly 400 entries.

"Digital
printing has come a long way since we won our first Premier Print Award in
1996", Steve says.
"We no longer have to talk about
near-offset quality. In the right hands, digital printing may be as good or
better than offset printing because digital has the ability to accurately
reproduce a greater range of colors using the four-color process.
"This validates the trust our customers have placed in
Copresco for the past two decades. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to
produce award winning digital work for you."
The
laboratory-products catalog was designed to target a specialized market
segment.
Digital printing on-demand was the logical choice
to meet the requirements for high quality with a print run of 500. The 96-page
book featured full-bleed tabs to enhance referencing of products and
services.
The
graphic designer furnished PDF chapters in piecemeal fashion, revising and
updating sections during the proofing process.
The
finished book was perfect bound in Copresco's bindery.
Due
to the success of this digitally printed catalog, our customer is planning to
create additional specialty pieces with even shorter print runs to target
specific markets.
After
attending a Copresco presentation on custom publishing, a sales executive hit
upon the idea of turning four decades of passport and visa records into a
living picture book.
Forty years of passport images of
the countries and times he and his wife had traveled were integrated into the
custom-designed book.
Full
process color, full coverage and full bleeds were required to do justice to the
project.
Digital on-demand printing again was the
obvious solution for the job that had a print run of 30
books.
Book bodies were printed on our digital color press
and collated inline. Final books were perfect bound and trimmed to simulate the
actual size of a United States passport.
Since the
PII program began four years ago, Copresco has won 13 awards for printing
excellence, including five in the best of category designation.
Copresco is well-known in the graphic arts industry for
our digital technology leadership.
On-demand
printing offers our customers major benefits including lightening-fast
turnaround, the ability to keep your documents up-to-date and less waste.
Now, the Pinnacle Award judges have given further
validation to what many of you have known for all these years:
Copresco quality can't be beat.
So, when
you need books and manuals in black & white, process coloror a
combination of the two, call Copresco.
We'll give your job
the award-winning attention it merits.
