Third Premier Print Award in Three Years

Copies Overnight has received a Premier Print Award from the Printing Industries of America.

The Carol Stream, Ill. firm won the award in the black and white digital printing category for producing a printing equipment repair catalog. The awards program is known throughout the graphic arts industry as the most prestigious competition honoring excellence in print.

The Certificate of Merit is the third PIA award Copies Overnight has received in as many years. In 1996, the firm received a "Benny" in the black and white digital printing category for a 168-page case bound book. Last year, the company received a Certificate of Merit in the black and highlight color digital printing category for producing a financial manual.

"We appreciate the continuing recognition from our peers in the graphic arts industry," says company president Steve Johnson. "These awards are the result of the commitment to quality we maintain for all of our customers."

The repair catalog, which contains 24 pages of text, graphics and halftones, was imaged on a Docutech 6180. Completed four-page signatures were collated and saddle bound using printed covers furnished by the customer.
