A teamwork development
program designed to improve company wide productivity and
performancehas been launched at Copresco.
Our
goal is to create a more flexible, responsive organization that maximizes the
personal development of our staff and provides increased value to our
customers, says president Steve Johnson.
We also hope to attract and retain additional talented, energetic
people.
The program relies heavily on education,
cross-training and empowerment of employee teams working together to accomplish
client projects faster and more efficiently.
To implement this
far-reaching program, new members have been added to the Copresco management
team.
Last month, we announced the elevation of Chuck
Legorreta to chairman. Ron Anderson has assumed Chucks manufacturing
responsibilities.
Denny Willison has been named
production manager. Jessica Pinkous joins the management group as technical
information manager.
As
manufacturing manager, Ron is responsible for all plant operations, including
the supervision of the computer services, digital press and bindery departments
on all shifts.
Ron has 42 years of experience in the
graphics arts industry. He previously served for 10 years as pre-press manager
for Active Graphics, a Chicago high-end color commercial printer.
A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, he
attended Triton College and the Graphic Arts Institute.
Denny remains one of
our production coordinators who oversees your job from start to finish,
providing diverse cost estimating, expediting and follow-up services. As
production manager, he adds new authority for scheduling our on-demand
workflow.
He has over 20 years of experience in the
graphics arts industry, including customer service, sales and printing shop
management. A Copresco veteran, Denny joined us in 1994.
Jessica came to
Copresco in 1996. After a stint in accounting, she moved into our computer
services department.
Jessica has been our webmistress
since the inception of Coprescos website in 1997. She has been
responsible for many of the innovations and improvements of the award-winning
site, as well as our client websites.
With our
teamwork plan in progress and a new management team in place, Copresco is
positioned to meet the challenges of the rapidly expanding digital printing
industry.
So when you need publications, books or
manuals, call the company that offers you leadership, teamwork and experience.

Response to our Digital Color Survey has been gratifying. We appreciate
your participation and thoughtful comments on the color quality of
last months Overnight Lite
issues.
A few respondents noted that they couldnt
make final judgments of color without reviewing the original prints or proofs.
Theyre absolutely right. However, reasonable opinions can be made about
the general quality of the flesh tones, the smoothness of gradients and the
reproduction of solid colors and text.
Others mentioned
the need for a color specification. Our subheads and the Lite masthead were
printed in PMS 3005. Please use this color to judge the overall accuracy of the
Pantone color reproduction.
To accommodate those who
didnt vote, we have extended the survey deadline. Theres still time
to cast your ballot for the digital press of your choice. You can use the
fax-back survey form or vote online.
Thanks
again for your help. Well give you detailed results of the survey in our
June issue, as well as Coprescos decision regarding the Docucolor 2060 or
E-Print Pro Plus.
Copresco
will be closed Monday, May 28, for Memorial Day.
Have a
great weekend.
