Practical Tools For Effective Communication

Copresco has received Apex 2000 awards of excellence for TechTopics and our corporate website from Communications Concepts, Inc.

"The awards recognize excellence in design, content and the ability to achieve overall communications effectiveness," says John De Lellis, editor and publisher of the business communications and services organization. "Some 4,900 entries were submitted and the competition was exceptionally intense."

TechTopics, Copresco's technical bulletin series, is devoted to in-depth articles on digital technology, document preparation and production, and printing on-demand.

Our website at www.copresco.com offers links to transmit files for digital printing and send e-mail messages to key personnel. Links to major companies in the printing and publishing fields are also provided. Cyberspace visitors will find company news, details of our services and back issues of TechTopics and Overnite Lite.

Meeting Your Needs

"We appreciate the recognition for our technical communications program," says president Steve Johnson. "As a leader in the high-tech digital printing industry, we have worked hard to develop practical and effective communications tools. Our webs website does not feature fancy graphics or animations. The site was created in order to better communicate with customers and other visitors. TechTopics was developed in response to customer requests for more technical information."

"We regularly update our print and Internet media to meet the fast-changing needs of the digital printing industry," Steve added.

Editor's Note

TechTopics and Overnight Lite received further recognition in a full-page story in the July issue of American Printer. The feature appears on page 59 of the nationally known graphic arts managers magazine.

FAQ:
Bond Vs. Offset Paper

Q. Last month you discussed "book" and "offset" paper. I always thought you used 20# bond as your standard paper. How does that fit in?

A. Paper terms and weights are a bit confusing. Most paper mills acknowledge that 20# sulphite bond (copy paper) is equal to a 50# uncoated offset sheet (widely used in books). A 24# bond equals a 60# offset. A 28# bond has the equivalent basis weight of a 70# offset paper.

Copresco has a virtually unlimited range of papers available in various weights, finishes and colors. Our house commodity-grade papers include 20#/50# and 24#/60# sheets. Our publication-grade house paper is Cougar 60# opaque offset, a #1 sheet selected for its high brightness and opacity ratings. See our July issue for details.
