Investing for the future...

New Equipment Added to Meet Growing Customer Needs

Copies Overnight has invested in a diverse range of finishing and support equipment to meet the growing needs of our customers.
A Sulby perfect binding system and a Powis-Parker tape binder have been installed in our bindery and finishing department.

It's Perfect...

Perfect binding is an affordable and attractive method for runs of several hundred or more paperback books. Wrap-around soft covers provide longevity benefits for a wide range of publications.
Tape binding simulates perfect binding. It's fast and cost-effective for very small quantities. With the new system, we can tape bind a wider variety of books than can be done inline on the Docutech.
Other binding services performed in-house are plastic comb binding, double-loop wire binding and saddle stitching. Finishing services include cutting, folding and drilling, inserting sets into binders and shrink wrapping.

Computer Power

We've expanded the staff in our computer services department and added new equipment to serve you better.
Three Hewlett Packard Pentium II systems and an Apple Macintosh G3 have significantly increased our flexibility for processing Windows and Macintosh applications.
The new computers are linked with other PC, Mac and NT workstations via a digital network to our four Docutechs.
We purchased a Hewlett Packard CD-R duplicator to burn compact disks for customers who want to archive their files on CDs or produce their jobs in this format rather than imaging them on paper.

Expanded Fleet

And...a 16-ft. Mitsubishi Fuso truck has been added to our "fleet" for pickup and delivery services throughout the Chicagoland area.
So when you need help with looseleaf or bound documents, call the company that can meet all your digital printing, finishing and delivery needs.
Call Copies Overnight.

Awards...Awards...

Copies Overnight has been named to the Top 100 Printers list by Quick Printing magazine.
With sales of $2.66 million in 1997, we were the number one printer in the nation specializing exclusively in high-speed digital printing and ranked 82nd on the magazine's overall list. The trade journal publishes the sales rankings of quick and small commercial printers annually.
Earlier this year, we were named to the Quick Print Giants list by Graphic Arts Monthly magazine.
As you know, we are not a quick printer by traditional definition. But, as our name implies, we do specialize in fast, digital on-demand service and are pleased to receive this extensive recognition from the quick printing segment of our industry.

The Prophets of Their Time?

If you think computer gurus are always ahead of their time, listen to these comments:
"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." — Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943.
"I have traveled the length and breadth of this country and talked with the best people, and I can assure you that data processing is a fad that won't last out the year." — The editor in charge of business books for Prentice Hall, 1957.
"But what...is it good for?" — Engineer at the Advanced Computing Systems Division of IBM, 1968, about the microchip.
"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home." — Ken Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corp., 1977.
"640K ought to be enough for anybody." — Bill Gates,
co-founder and CEO of Microsoft, 1981.
