Last month, we discussed
client software as an effective solution to FTP files transfer problems.
In response to your further requests, we have begun beta
testing a new process to significantly improve website files transfer.
Our goal is to make the uploading of digital print files
as simple and painless as possible for you, without sacrificing accuracy or
reliability.
Features we are incorporating into the new system include:
We want to
stress that this is a beta testing program. We have made great strides and now
need your assistance.
We hope you will give the new
process a try. Just log on via
the URL in the internet box and follow the instructions. After your test run,
please take a couple of minutes to let us know what you think about the overall
process, the clarity of our instructions and ease of use.
We also
welcome your suggestions for improvements or additional features you would like
to see. Please let us know what operating system and version youre using.
A Java applet expands the functionality of the new
system. To take advantage of these added features, Java should be enabled in
your web browser.
For example, Java will allow you to
upload complete folders, rather than sending individual files one at a time.
You can still use our normal web file transfer site until
this new system is functioning to your satisfaction.
If
you prefer, you can obtain client software for FTP files transfer as outlined
in the March Overnight
Lite story (available on our website).
Each month
we respond to your questions. Now we have one for you.
Does your copy of
Overnight Lite
arrive in good condition every month? Does it survive the mailing experience
without cracking or rubbing? Does it arrive neatly folded, or is it wrinkled
from postal handling? Have there been months when it didn't arrive at all?
We are currently evaluating the interaction of paper and
the digital printing process in the real world of the U.S. mail. Your response
will not just help us create a better newsletter; your input will tell us more
about rub resistance of any mailed item, as well as digitally printed color
book covers.
Simply visit the website below and take 30
seconds to fill out the form.
Thanks to our friend
George "Grif" Griffin at Instant & Small Commercial Printer
for suggesting this
topic.
In case
you wondered, Overnight Lite is printed on 100# Sappi
Lustro Gloss Text. This coated book paper is available in both 80# and 100#
weights, and also comes in matching 80#, 100# and 120# C2S cover weights.
This No.1 grade paper features a 90 brightness rating and
contains 10% postconsumer recycled fiber yet is ph neutral. All weights are
available in both a dull and gloss finish.
Lustro papers
are extremely well suited to Copresco's color digital printing process, resist
rubbing and make four-color process images and heavy solids look their very
best.
